Leaner, cleaner Tonero
Stage V, or Stage 5, is the new European Emission Regulation for Non-Road Mobile Machinery, including forklift trucks ((EU) 2016/1628), which came into force on 1 January 2019. The purpose of Stage 5 is to reduce the emissions from combustion engines by lowering the limit of exhaust levels of diesel and gasoline (LPG) engines.
We made sure our engines are compliant, offering you Toyota quality and performance as always, with the lowest impact on total cost of ownership (TCO). Toyota Material Handling continues to work with Toyota engines that offer all advantages regards to durability, parts availability, ease of serviceability, and many more. Contact your local Toyota sales representative for more advice on choosing the right forklifts for your application.
Toyota's Tonero hydrostatic range is designed for the most intense and demanding materials handling applications and the latest versions come with a host of new features that deliver further productivity, energy efficiency and safety benefits to users in all industry sectors.
Available capacities: 1.5 - 3.5 tonne
Power sources: Diesel & LPG
The main benefits of these trucks are:
The engine drives the hydraulic pump. A swash plate allows hydraulic flow. In neutral position, the truck is held stationary. The hydrostatic transmission transforms engine power by providing fluid coupling between the engine and hydraulic motors on the front wheels. This allows the truck to begin motion.
Hydrostatic transmission is most suitable in applications where forklifts operate short but intense runs as it gives operators increased control. It is also beneficial in applications that operate their forklifts on uneven surfaces as the transmission keeps the wheels in traction mode at all times.
The Stage V engine is equipped with a diesel particulate filter which means it surpasses the Euro Stage V regulations ensuring lean and clean material handling operations. Euro Stage V emissions standards came into play in 2019 and apply to all non-road engines and equipment.
Hydrostatic transmission forklifts are particularly popular in applications where the truck is operated on uneven surfaces as the transmission keeps the wheels in traction mode at all times. Because there is less pedal operating required, operators tend to have more control in short, intense runs.
Torque converter transmission forklifts are usually the best option if your operation requires long runs on a regular basis. Similar to a car torque converter transmission allows you to control fuel consumption through efficient use of the throttle.
