Tow Tractors & Trailers Operator Training
This course is designed to ensure all colleagues are competent to operate the selected tow tractor and trailers. Trainees will understand the importance of good maintenance and safe operating procedures including manoeuvring with a trailer into designated areas.
Course Content
The following content is covered in the duration of this course:
- Health & Safety at Work Act
- Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations
- Workplace transport safety
- Operators safety codes (safe driving practices)
- Tug/Tow tractor stability and capacities
- Pre user safety inspection
- Practical manoeuvring in restricted areas
- Trailer reverse and deposit
- Knowledge based theory test and practical testing
Experience Level
H1: Ride on tow tractors and trailers
H2: Pedestrian tow tractors and trailers
Novice:
1 day (1 candidate)
2 days (2-3 candidates)
Experienced:
1 day (1-3 candidates)
Conversion: 1-3 candidates (contact training admin for more information)
Refresher: 1 day (1-3 candidates)
