Logiconomi - Trends and innovations in logistics
Logiconomi is a communication platform created by Toyota Material Handling Europe to host presentations and discussions on trends, innovations and technologies in the world of logistics, for the benefit of logistics experts and TMHE personnel. Content is developed through research and consultation with major logistics operators, progressive solution providers and centres of innovation. Our aim is to support and engage the logistics industry to continuously improve efficiency, eliminate waste and thereby reduce cost and environmental impact.

Collaboration is central to the concept of Logiconomi, to enrich the platform with progressive ideas and thinking from all branches of business that could have an impact on the logistics industry. Consequently, we have developed co-operations and partnerships with a number of leading companies, all of whom have contributed their knowledge and experience to create Logiconomi Forums and TV programmes. This level of collaboration also allows partners to work jointly to develop solutions for the future.
Logiconomi TV
Logiconomi TV programmes are regularly published here to provide quick, easy-to-digest insights on different aspects of logistics, covering subjects such as energy, climate change, automation and connectivity. They are around 10 minutes in length and give concise information and guidance through interviews with industry experts. Watch the latest episode of Logiconomi TV below.
Goods to Man solution
In this Logiconomi TV episode, Lotte Willems of Vanderlande discusses robotics developments, and Guillermo Albaladejo, General Manager of the Logistics Solutions Integration team at Toyota Material Handling Europe, focuses on software-driven goods to man automation. The episode highlights the growing trend of autonomous mobile robots known for their flexibility and cost-efficiency. Cube-based AS/RS systems are also mentioned, alongside the integration of robots in the assembly stage. The experts emphasis the crucial role of technology in addressing labour challenges and offer guidance on making informed technology choices for improved logistics and order assembly processes.
Logiconomi Forums
Logiconomi Forums are normally biennial events that provide a key meeting opportunity for logistics professionals to hear from industry leaders, presenting on key trends and technologies. They also allow for discussion forums and workshops on key topics. They typically host over 500 delegates and are held in different locations across Europe, conducted in English. The next event is provisionally planned for spring 2025. Details will be announced on this webpage in due course.
It all started in Mjölby, Sweden, January 2018
The first Logiconomi Forum was staged at Toyota Material Handling’s factory and HQ in Mjölby, Sweden. It provided delegates with the opportunity to visit the company’s research and development centre as well as gaining insights through presentations from Volvo Venture Capital, leading robotics expert Randall van Poelvoorde and futurist Dr. Patrick Dixon.
In logistics, standing still is not an option
Two more events were organised. The 2019 Logiconomi Forum was staged at SugarCity, Amsterdam and the 2022 edition in central Antwerp and also at the nearby Logiville logistics innovation centre.
