We empower leaders to create a culture that prioritises the health of our people. Working towards our goal of zero injuries and work-related illnesses, 47% of our employees now work in entities with independently certified ISO 45001 health and safety management systems. We regularly exchange best practices with other leading companies who are, like us, Campaign Partners with the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA).
Our ambitious sustainability goals are an invitation to talented people to join us and contribute to creating the sustainable and digital logistics of the future. We reward our employees with a transparent remuneration system that is benchmarked across Europe. During the pandemic, we retained our employees and paid out bonuses for everyone. As part of our “Future of Work” programme, we create attractive work environments both online and in the real world.
Our annual appraisals are a focal point for continuous conversations between employees and their managers to discuss personal development. Employees can engage in numerous development opportunities adapted to their position and aspirations. Everyone has access to formal learning, such as technical training in Toyota Production System or e-learnings focused on service, sales and other focus areas. We also offer over 1,800 e-learning courses in 15 languages on our online academy. For cross-functional leaders and team leaders, we designed our own leadership programmes LIFT and LEAD.
Every year, we invite employees to engage in activities to support the company’s commitment to create a society in harmony with nature. Our local entities combined offered more than a hundred team-building opportunities where employees can contribute locally to youth development, social welfare and environmental conservation. In FY21, more than 2,000 employees took part in volunteering activities. In September 2021, over 800 employees in 12 countries showed their personal commitment to contribute to a better planet by taking part in “World Cleanup Day”.
