Raising standards, embracing change
For over a decade, we have been a sustainability frontrunner in our industry. We challenge ourselves every day to continue leading the way, focusing on our operations as well as relationships with our suppliers and customers. For five consecutive years, we have been rated EcoVadis Platinum five years in a row and, having submitted carbon emissions reduction targets last year, we have now also announced our targets to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by FY2041 – targets that have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which is a significant milestone.

Our approach to sustainability
While progress on sustainability has been made - and we will be taking significant steps forward this decade - we know that we have much more work to do. We are nevertheless grateful for what we have achieved thus far, alongside our stakeholders. We set out to keep on leading our industry. We are committed to meeting and surpassing global climate objectives, creating successful workplaces promoting wellbeing, and driving improved governance.
Our 2023 Sustainability Report follows the structure of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, or ESRS - a new framework for large EU companies. Though not yet mandatory, we wanted to be frontrunners by reporting in line with ESRS before we will be legally obliged to do so. This approach helps us identify any gaps and lets us mature our sustainability materiality process. We have identified the issues that matter most to our business and stakeholders and prioritise actions. We report on the achievements, our work points and targets in a 'light' version of our sustainable development report intermediately. Read more in our 2024 Sustainability Status Report.

We continuously challenge ourselves to be part of the solution and lead on climate action, we collaborate with stakeholders and act responsibly to minimise our environmental impact. In support of our ambition to decarbonize, SBTi has approved our science-based targets aimed at reaching net zero across scope 1, 2 & 3 by 2041.
Social
We care about the people working for us, for our suppliers and for our customers. We have set health, safety & wellbeing as a top priority since joining EU-OSHA as a campaign partner in 2010. In October 2024 we updated our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) policy to ensure equal opportunities for all.
Governance
Ensuring we have the right policies, processes and an ethical business culture established across our organisation and our value chain is critical. With a new set of sustainability criteria for suppliers – based around EcoVadis - we aim to operate openly and transparently and raise our standards.

Highlights of our achievements
To ensure a systematic approach and to build trust, companies need to get their management systems and structure validated and certified by third-party bodies.By submitting our corporate climate targets to the SBTi we want to make sure that our commitments are in line with the latest climate science. Its validation is an important recognition. To get ISO certified or to be awarded an EcoVadis Medal, there are pre-defined procedures and certain measures to be followed. Since it requires a rigorous gap analysis, documentation and training, the purpose of the process is to improve the quality of our sustainability management systems and fill the gaps. Third-party organisations aim to provide knowledge and guide development. Their activities, expertise and member network will assist us in constructing a more resilient, inclusive and environmentally responsible business.
Decarbonisation has become one of the focus points for companies across Europe and around the world to limit global warming to 1.5°C. What binds us is our shared responsibility and commitment to achieve net zero.
ISO Standards are international standards that ensure a systematic approach to quality, safety, environmental management and energy efficiency. All our factories are certified ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001.
Every year we are assessed by EcoVadis in our performance and transparency across four key appraisal areas, including labour and human rights, environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
