“We believe we have developed a class-leading heavy-duty 80-Volt truck range and a true alternative to engine-powered counterbalance trucks,” says Craig Walby, Director Product Management at Toyota Material Handling Europe. “Thanks to the choice of battery technologies, high energy efficiency, full floating cabin and I_Site availability, the Traigo80 is a strong member of the Traigo family.” The new Traigo80 range replaces the current Traigo HT range and consists of 6, 7, and 8-tonnes models, of which the latter is now also available with 900mm load centre.
The powerful motors offer strong climbing ability and high travel speed, making the forklift suitable for demanding applications normally reserved for engine-powered forklifts. The truck can also manoeuvre in compact spaces where necessary, for example in production or storage areas, thanks to the sharp rear steering angle. The well laid-out dashboard allows the driver to work intuitively and experience low vibrations and noise thanks to the full floating driver’s compartment. The driver’s safety is enhanced with the truck’s excellent all-round visibility and Toyota SAS, the System of Active Stability that also improves productivity.
The new 80-Volt models come with electric power steering for lower energy consumption and give customers the choice in battery technology to suit their needs. For a smooth battery exchange, the truck is designed around an open chassis to easily place and retrieve the battery.
This robust truck’s components are fully protected, for reliable work outdoors in wet or dusty conditions. Nevertheless, the main components are easily accessible via a hatch in the counterweight for smooth maintenance. Thanks to the fully enclosed steel cabin, the driver is also protected and comfortable in all weather conditions.
