You can read an additional statement about our approach to the pandemic here.
European supply chains are opening up and our business activities consequently follow. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our customers and colleagues. We would therefore like to remind everyone to carefully follow health precautions:
We aim for full business and support as usual for our customers. We have the capacity to do so, however, while respecting your business guidelines and local regulations, and can reschedule service visits where needed. All technicians are working according to strict hygiene and social distance guidelines while wearing face coverings if required.
To support you in the best way possible, we are providing free guides for safe service operations during COVID-19:
Guidelines for cleaning your equipment
Guidelines for storing unused equipment for an extended period
We have created a leaflet with guidelines on what to do when a Toyota service technician visits your company.
We have created a leaflet with guidelines on how to clean your equipment.
All Toyota technicians have received safety measures to follow before, during and after carrying out a service visit at a customer site. Our technicians are instructed to follow your company-specific rules, as well as local regulations; among which strict hygiene and social distance procedures, to keep you, the people on your site and our technicians safe and healthy.
Yes, our current capacity allows our service technicians to do all necessary visits, without the need of having to prioritise certain industries before others.
Where necessary, service visits are rescheduled, prioritising breakdown repairs over preventive maintenance. This we do of course after discussing with you, and in compliance with local regulations (for example, depending on local decisions regarding safety inspections).
Here we also aim for full business and support as usual for our customers but respect that some of our customers may be unable to receive visits. Here our sales team will switch to online meetings or conference calls according to customer preference. All web shops remain open for ordering online and provide customer support.
We have continued to support our customers, with enough short-term rental trucks available for quick delivery (especially in health care, food and retail business), and flexibility in long-term rental solutions. In the workshops and during delivery at customer sites, strict equipment disinfection processes are being respected.
At the moment we still have the capacity to support all customers, and take our responsibility for the health and safety of your drivers. We're strongly supporting the vital sectors, especially food and healthcare which is now increasing in activity and therefore is in need of additional trucks. Where necessary, we are bringing in trucks across borders to prioritise the sectors of food, retail, medicines, and other daily goods – making sure to deliver the right trucks for these industry needs. Also, our extensive demo fleets are on standby - and of course, we refresh our fleets continuously with new trucks.
All our workshop and logistic functions are still fully operational while taking strict health and safety measures, adhering to local regulations. The workshops are vital for refurbishing used trucks that are repurposed as rental trucks. Where necessary, extra field service technicians come and work in the workshops or for additional support – to make sure there is enough capacity to support the essential sectors.
Our supply operations are ramping up capacity to follow the increased business demand. All orders have been replanned and informed to customers. Our ambition is to have full production to get all orders out as soon as possible, delivering trucks and parts to the best extent possible.
All supply organisations are meeting daily to discuss mitigation and actions, ensuring a quick reaction to any changes in the current situation.
We are working at reduced capacity where necessary due to local regulations from authorities.
We're doing everything we can to keep personnel at work, both factory workers and office personnel.
We're following government guidelines and are encouraging our colleagues, where possible, to work from home, giving them the technical infrastructure to do so.
All international business travel is cancelled or postponed, using online meeting where possible.
