Forklift Training

Making the most of man and machine

In today's fast-moving world of logistics, the demand for speed of operation and "right-the-first-time" quality standards mean that many companies are continually searching for new and improved methods of materials handling and storage.

Truck technology can play a major part, but the human factor in material handling remains key.

Significant benefits can be measured by establishing the best possible relationship between man and machine. Toyota Material Handling has always recognised this, which is why we have an unrivalled reputation for ergonomic truck design.

There have been a number of notable innovations:

Driver Training We were the first company to invent a flip-down driver platform on pedestrian trucks, which reduces operator fatigue and increases productivity.

We also first developed the concept of a free-view mast, which is now an industry norm.

Toyota Material Handling remains the only company with a tilt-cab reach truck – which has been scientifically proven to reduce operator strain when working at heights – reducing errors and improving efficiency.

Virtually every truck in the Toyota Material Handling range has programmable performance parameters, to suit the operator and the application.

All training programmes from Toyota Material Handling are designed to maximise the benefits that can be derived from an effective man-machine interface.

Damage limitation

The cost of damage in handling operations can be extremely significant – in terms of damage to equipment, damage to the goods being handled, and most significantly, the potential for human injury.

Recognising this fact, Toyota Material Handling has worked with many customers to help to improve driver knowledge and motivation, and thus performance levels. These benefits can be achieved through increased cost awareness, as well as recognition of individual achievements.

We also arrange truck driver championships that encourage recognition of the vital role of the truck driver – further improving skills and endorsing high driving standards.
